CruxEX 3.1 2014 64 bit Linux Live USB is based on CRUX 3.1 (latest version, released 140716), which is all Linux enthusiasts/nerds favorite OS. (CRUX 3.1 is a lightweight Linux distribution for the x86-64 architecture targeted at experienced Linux users). CruxEX 3.1 2014 uses the LXDE Desktop environment. I have replaced the original CRUX kernel 3.12.24 with “my” special kernel 3.16.3-x86_64-cruxex, with support for “extra everything”.
Version/build 140923 of CruxEX uses kernel 3.16.3-x86_64-exton. Today (140930) I have compiled a new special kernel for CRUX 3.1. I call it 3.16.3-x86_64-cruxex. The CruxEX system now boot up faster than ever before. I’ve added more support for different network cards and sound cards (in the kernel).
Kernel 3.16.3 is the latest available stable kernel as of 140926. Among all installed and updated applications are Firefox 32.0.2, Gimp 2.8.14 and Wicd 126.96.36.199-4. Furthermore compilation tools so that you can install programs from source.
Install my new version of CruxEX 3.1 64bit from 140930 to a USB Pen Drive and save your system changes – read this INSTRUCTION. If you later on decide you want to install CruxEX to hard drive from the USB Pen Drive all your system changes will also be installed to the hard drive.
